Nothing to freak about. It happens. You must have a healthy root system going on. I've used them a couple of times now and have yet to have that happen.

Some strains are just curious, why not pot up to a 7 us gallon?
bigger root ball does mean bigger buds

Roots coming out of the bottom does not mean it needs a transplant.
I always see this on the forums.
3 gallon containers can grow pound plants.
Try and get the smart pots out of standing water and no roots shouldn't pop out.

Weird. Never seen then come out of my smart pots.
Nothing to worry about though, they'll prune themselves.

I usually grow in 3gal smartpots in my experiment/breeding room.
I get roots out the bottom every time. Probably from sitting on the trays.
When i first pot up to the 3gal's, they are slammed together pretty good. Roots want to grow out the sides.
Anyways, no biggie. Those roots really can't do much, as they are obviously restricted growing through the fabric, and will most likely air prune themselves.

In 200 gallon smartpots, outdoors, we cut a big X in the bottom, so that some roots can grow As deep as they want.

200 gallon smart pot.... mind blowing haha

I've had roots grow out of the side of smart pots as well as the bottom. Anywhere that is moist enough will save the roots from being airpruned. Was usually cuz I had my pots so close together that the air between wasn't cycling out and the roots would poke out

I know these two brothers who use 400gal's. Thats fricken 2 yrds of soil per plant. THAT is mind blowing! Lol

I have the same thing happening but in my 3 gal pots im wondering if i should just throw the whole pot into a larger size or dont know if theyll be fine because yea i just switched 12 12 and the roots are a couple inches or so out the bottom they still have a couple months to go!

theyll self prune in the air so long as there not touching water.
I have 20g smart pots that are in wetlands. The roots went through the pot and into the ground under them. It’s not necessarily standing water but they will be ok right? The roots don’t need to prune?
