ideally i want the vdp to be on low end around 1.2 to 1.4 max,but when the lights go on the air dries out and vdp climbs to 1.8 -2.0. Its not a bad thing id say, but higher vdp will cause more transpiration and accordingly more water uptake.
right. I mean I wonder how much of an effect it has if you just make sure your plants have adequate water all the time. I never let the soil dry out, so the plants can take as much water as they need all the time. I mean obviously high humidity is going to cause problems in the roots because transpiration will be decreased, leading to prolonged soil saturation.

i feel like if i just keep them watered they can pretty much transpire all the water they want lol im aiming for 40% humidity during flowering but since my humidifier is sitting outside the flower room theres a buffer time for the humidity to increase, but by the time i get the humidity and vdp in check the lights go off and the whole scenario changes completely. I have yet to figure out an efficient way to get the humid air into the grow space without the humidifier being inside the closet.

think i found a solution to my humidity issue. Its a personal ultrasonic mister, should be small enough to fit on the shelf next to the heater ;) Screenshot_2019-03-08-07-34-19.png

this one isnt really part of this grow but i had to post a pic of my newest addition to kushdaddys strain treasure chest. ;) Gorilla glue #4! traded a couple girl scout clones for it. 20190308_195835.jpg

I grow in LOS but got some roots liquid nutrients to give me a boost when needed. I was wondering if you had been PHing your solution before using? I've used it a few times already with good results but didnt bother to ph anything.

No, i dont ph adjust my solution anymore. I found that without using pro-tekt (base) the solution come out little acidic. I used the protekt to raise ph, but i havent had a single problem since i stopped doing that.

Wow man very impressive. You're doing a great job with everything my friend. That canopy looks great along with the management. Are you sure this is your first time growing lol. I'm sorry I've been mia. Life has been really hectic as you know. I am happy to see that you got everything figured out. That pulse meter is an awesome tool. And those ladies, those ladies are just beautiful! I just started a few holy punch seeds last Friday and things are starting to finally wind down, so I'll be checking in on you more. I'll also be running a journal. I am really happy for you brother, you're doing great. Happy you came across a vpd chart, it's a game changer in it self.

I did notice you're wanting to get a humidifier for your room. What is wrong with the one you have? Also, try to stay away from ones with electric on/off switch. Try to find one with a manual switch that will keep it on. You can get one of those inkbird controls that will turn the humidifier on or off depending on your settings. If you have one with an electric on/off switch. once the sensor shuts of the humidifier it will not turn it back on. You can find one with a humidity sensor built in but they are pretty expensive. Also, try to find one that hold a gallon or more of water. I have a really small one and it holds less than a gallon, I have to fill it a few times a day sometimes. Pretty annoying. I needed one fast and I got it for 10 dollars. It works good but again filling it is a pain. However it was a step up from the crockpot I was using lol.

If you have any questions dont hesitate to reach out. If I can help I will and if not, then we will learn together. I hope all is well with you. I see you're still here so I know the lady has not killed you yet, that is good lmao.

:p nope! im still here haha! i actually came up with a stellar d.i.y. humidifier using a plastic tote a computer fan and an ultrasonic mister. The humidifier i had was way too big to fit into the small grow space.i placed the mister pointing towards the intake vent of the room and it sucks the humid air right in. Quick response time too, a few seconds after it turns on the humidity jumps up. I also bought a second inkbird controller and a "de"-humidifier for the night. It was getting up to almost 70% at night. So im controlling a heater, fans, humidifier and dehumidifier with inkbird controllers to dial in vdp but its super sensetive. I accidentaly bought a de-humidifier with the electric switch thinking it was manual but me being the mcyver/hot rod that i am took the computer chip inside and chucked it and wired it straight. Works like a charm now lol20190313_220034.jpg

this is actually not my first grow lol ive been growing for about 25 years now ;) this is my first real attempt at organic soil growing though. For years i was hooked on hydroponics mainly deep water culture, but my last hydro grow was really disheartening. I shocked it and caused nute lockup and it died. my gf got to witness my tragedy and now since it was the first grow she saw she thinks i dont know what im doing. :roll:Despite what my gf thinks this has been the best grow of my life to date! In the 25 years of growing i think ive finally mastered my technique. Proof is in the puddin though so we'll see how good my drying/curing game is and maybe when her head floats off into outerspace she'll see that i can grow some good weed! lol

thanks for the encouragement, all the help and advice ive got from you guys. Its appreciated
