that happens to me as well never really though it mattered, how big are your pots, your roots will try go anywhere they can especially down so don't think its problem
depends on what stage u are how big ur gonna make ur plants and whatever if its near harvest no need to worry too much but if its fairly early transplant em
Unless its staying wet it should dry up and die, it wont hurt the plant any, if you think about how much that is compared to the whole root ball in a 5 gallon bucket.
