Root Volume?

I want to start my next grow as either a bubbleponic or aero grow, but I have one main question...

Does more volume for my roots mean a bigger yield/plant? Or would I be able to cram two pots into a 8 gall recirculating container without any problems?

Too little rootspace will limit a plant's size, but 8 gallons of water is plenty for two large plants.

I have a similar question.

My "dwc" "aeroponics" I'm not sure what it is... It's in a 5 gal bucket, and it's starting to drink quite a bit. I've been vegging it for quite some time now, and she almost dries the bucket before I can get back to her and water her. Should I change to a 15 gal bucket for the one plant?

That volume probably won't continue long so don't go larger. Just keep refilling. If that becomes a major problem you can rig up a system to autofill it.

There's plenty of debate on how much water is needed to support one plant. Some say one gallon min per plant, but I like two gallons min per plant.

A 5 gallon bucket w/three gallons of H20 will support one plant to harvest.

An 8 gallon tote/tub(using 6 gallons) can support 2 or 3 large plants.

He's growing in a 5 gal bucket & a 8 gal tote.

How often do you check your H20 level?

A 5 gal bucket holds around 3 gallons of nutes/H20. The plant takes in around a gallon per day. This should leave you with 2 gallons left each day, if you top off daily.

I grew one plant per 5 gallon bucket to harvest without any problems. But I topped off daily.

Oh yea, a large tub is easier to maintain the ppm & ph. So an 8 gallon tote/tub with 6 gallons of nute/H20 will be very stable.

My plants drink a shitload too. Over a gallon a day. I use distilled and it is getting quite expensive. I would love to switch to R/O water which is much cheaper but am leary of changing because they all do great in distilled. I have never had a Ph issue. Anyone ever switched from distilled to R/O in mid grow? Any problems:?:

I check my plants daily. Once morning, once night. I only fill up once a day. They drink at least 1 gallon. It's more like 1 1/2 gallons per day minimum. Hasn't been more than 2 1/2 gallons yet. They did drink around 2 1/2 for a few days though. I have never had a plant this big, my roots take up the entire 5 gallon bucket. I do not wish to do an auto-fill resevoir. Right now money is tight, and if I had money, it'd be going on a 600w setup. With each plant growing 20" high, and 3 feet wide in 1 month 1 week - 1 month 2 weeks, I definitely want a 600!
