There is no one ... I repeat, NO ONE in congress that understands our money system in more depth, nor whom can better explain it in simple, every-day language, better than Ron Paul. The man is a patriot in every sense of the word. Anyone who just dismisses Ron Paul out of hand has not studied the man or his writings. Simple as that.

Right! There you go.
We need someone who will abide by the constitution for once.

I agree, youtube ron paul from the 1980's, he tried to warn people...

we need someone who thinks outside the box.

"Change" of skin color means nothing.

I don't care what color he or she is, or where they come from; as long as they plan to shake the political tree, and as long as the main stream media hates them; they'll have my vote.

Ron Paul fits, but he's getting up there in age now.

Unfortunatly I don't see to many in congress or the Senate who can replace him.
Bush and his cheer-leaders in congress have sullied the name of Republicans.
Republicans need to bring in independant and even democrat votes to win.
Unless they change their message I fear we are doomed to 8 years of Obama.

The anti-war left are silent to Obamas expansion of the war.
No-one will even think about drug policy as a medical issue not a law enforcement issue.
No-one will have the principle to veto unbalaced budgets.
We must cut our debt.
We must lower taxes to create jobs.
We have to start believing in Freedom again.

BTW Ron Paul advanced the liberty/libertarian movement in this country ten years at least.

How could anyone be so gullible to support this guy? He is just another lying, self serving, theiving politician. It was obvious all along that he would not get the Republican nomination as nobody took him seriously, his whole candidacy was a farce. Even if he was serious which he wasn't since he didn't run as an independent, just take a look at the facts, hes another old, white, Republican from Texas. Is that what our country really needs right now? Another arrogant Republican from Texas? Hell no! Remember all of the tens of MILLIONS of dollars that Ron Pauls sheeple donated during the primaries??? Paul is a very rich man thanks to those gullible fools.
What has he lied about, what has he stolen? He wasn't serious because he didn't run as an independent?

So you don't like him because he is old, white, conservative, and from texas?

Wow....I can see the waters run deep in this thread

I researched and became more aware of what I think would happen with such laissez-faire economic policys. I'm sure the banks would love there to be no federal reserve then they could do what ever they feel like. I'm sure employers would love there to be no rights for workers.

I don't mean this disparagingly, but I'm going to guess that you have never run a business.

I think Ron Paul is a very brilliant guy from what can see, but I don't think this ship can't be turned around unfortunately. People have been trying to slow government growth from the moment it started growing, and it has never worked. There are too many intrenched special interests to overcome. I'm done plugging the holes, I'm running for the lifeboats!

oh I understand how it would seem to be a great idea for your small business but mega corporations will take you out of the picture so fast in a ron paul presidentcy

Well, with all due respect ... that is exactly what the statists want you to believe.

Whatever has been established can be torn down in an instant. All we need are statesmen who will do the job. Take a look at Chile with their privatized social security, or look at Peru with their calmost total conversion of their cars to natural gas. Another thing to look at is the old Soviet Union and the now free peoples of Eastern Europe.

Always keep a positive attitude and select your representative carefully.

Obama is a sham and a con. He and his administration are leading us into what they perceive to be a Marxist Utopia.

This is not exactly true in practice.

Look how long we've lived with absolutely dangerous marijuana policies in this country. It's clear as day how manipulative liars and controlling, mostly religious fucks have used the government to enforce their preferences on us. It's taken 60+ years to even BEGIN the process of regaining this simple freedom to smoke a plant! Once this freedom is regained through political activism, how many other freedoms will have been lost in the mean time?

Do you not see how your freedoms are being taken away faster than you are reestablishing them? To keep this ship from sinking, you must convince the conservatives to stop waging wars, and the liberals from voting themselves more entitlements (I know this is simplistic). Even if reversing all established trends is possible, you have to do this before the government collapses our economy, which is quickly on the way.

I can't blame slaves for trying to win freedoms back from their masters. I just choose to focus my energies into advocating for real freedom, not just reducing the violence of slavery.

i feel that ron paul is way overrated as well as way under-scrutinized. however you have to form a better body of evidence than simply "texas republican".

maybe he didnt want to go down as the next ralph nader. if it wasnt for that douchebag there would have been no president bush jr.....which of course would have meant more terrorist attacks and comets/tsunami's/volcanos/earthquakes/dragons/homosexuals/abortionists/athiests killing off the human race...right neoncons? :p

If he was serious he should have run as an Independent. It was clear even before the election process started that he had no chance of getting the Republican nomination yet him and his flock of sheeple seemed oblivious to this.

Ron Paul is a fuckhead in my book,I was one of the fools that donated money

Hes just another greedy fast talking politician. I hope you didn't give him very much cash. Remember those "money bombs" where he was collecting 10s of millions of dollars by the hour? lol. What a scam!!! Although he has a few good ideas the bottom line is hes just a stubborn geriatric Republican from Texas. And the funny thing is mainstream Republicans hate him yet he clings to the GOP party.

He was being practical, obviously third parties don't really have a chance. Third parties aren't allowed to participate in televised debates, he was just trying to get his name and his ideas out there.

And what scam are you talking about? Are you under the impression Mr. Paul is using left-over contributions to buy porsches and TV's or...what exactly?

Whats funny is everyone who thought they were donating money to Ron Paul's campaign which had no chance of success and was seen a joke from the start, really ended up giving their money to the GOP since that's where all the millions Paul collected ended up eventually.. lol
