Rolaids for ph up?

Hey everyone, first post ever and i was wondering if anyone has ever tried or heard of using rolaids as a ph up? To me it makes sense because one rolaid is made of 675mg of calcium carbonate and 135mg of magnesium hydroxide. The main purpose of rolaids is to lower acidity. I have tried it once and it seemed to help a little. I crushed the tablets into a fine powder then added them to water. The only problem was that some of the powder didn't penetrate into the soil and settled on top. I think i will try it again since it didn't seem to hurt them. Thoughts?

Do think the citrus flavor works better than the cherry?
