is there anything i can get without placing an order online that would be a good substitute for rockwool cubes? or any suggestions on how to make a net pot?

I've seen a kitchen sponge cut into squares, and where someone took a plastic cup, and cut hundreds of slits in it, with a razor knife.

I have seen someone cut a whiffle ball in half and use that for a net pot.

Alot of ppl really prefer natural sponge to RW.. Like the course natural ones at painting stores.. There are threads about it..
