Rockwool question?

Okay so I'm starting hydroponic and I dont think I'm understanding this very much. I have a seed I germinated in a baggy and it has a root hanging out the I but the seed in the middle of the rock wool and put it in clay. so it's sitting in the clay and every time I go in the room(every day) it is all dryed up. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I have a bucket DWC system just trying to get this thing to sprout. I have a top drip too but I havent used it. Can someone explain to me how to do this? I read all over inter net and still not sure.

First I recommend you switch to soil. sounds like you have some reading to do about hydro. second get your dripper running the root needs water but also needs air so...refer to first recommendation
