Rock wool Question

i have 2" cube rockwool,

there is what seems like plastic around the rockwool. should i remove this before putting the cube into the net pot with grow rocks?

i figured if i remove the plastic/paper around the cubes the roots will breath better.

does it matter?

Keep it on! Rockwool can easily fall apart. Make sure you soak it in a 5.5 ph solution for 24 hours prior to using. Also make sure you are constantly checking your ph. I am currently growing in Rockwool for the first time and noticed the PH constantly rising because Rockwool is naturally at 7.5 PH
