Rock Wool grow?

I am just curious if anyone grows in rockwool, like they would soil? I see a couple including homebrewer use it in ebb & Flo systems, but just curious if anyone elses it in straight grow and if so how well it works.

Not so hot. I know there are people out there who do it but the problems I see the most is keeping the medium at the right moisture level.
One guy I know who tried it, had like 20 plants he lost about 1/3 to stem rot. Na, I wont do it when there are so many other ways to go hydro.

if youre going to use rockwool, put them into larger pots filled with hydroton... water them every hour for 1 minute.. they hold water really well. the hydroton gives the roots something to grow around. if you grow only in a cube, the roots will be exposed to air and light and your plant will be stunted from air/light pruning
