I have 4 jars that I steam sterilized without a pressure cooker and has been inoculated a week ago. I can definitely see small amount of mycelium growing but it has slowed down and the rice on the outside has dried out. I sprayed the sides of the jar and the top of the rice with sterilized water hopefully that will help.
Questions,
Did I not cook the rice in the water long enough or am I too dry where I live(avg indoor humidity is around 30 percent) I can add humidifier where the jars are if it will help

You may want to try shaking them.
