reuse of coconut fiber

Hello friends !!! Is it possible to reuse the coco fiber after several cultures of tomato? I have access to a lot of used coconut fiber and I would really like to use it.
First time i will make some kind of experiment with some of it.
I brough home some 10 liters in one plastic bag that will play the role of the pot.
Tommorow morning i will go to buy one auto flower seed to try if the coco fiber is ok to use and to experiment with some grow tehniqes.

This bag has been flushed with tap watter + nitric acid and the drainage it will be tested tomorow to see the Ph and EC values.
I will give more details about the tehniqes in an eventual grow journal ... if the seed will sprout.
For the moment i would like to know if is ok to re use coconut fiber and it would be amazing to get some info from someone who is doing this.

Depending upon the length of time the coconut fibre was first used it could serve you twice more before it needs to be thrown.


Some folks say that coco is better the second time around.


Use some coco specific nutes and make sure you have some cal/mag on hand.


If it were me I would pre charge the coco with around 0.6EC along with a shot of cal/mag before use.



I grew in coco for almost 2 yrs before switching to hydro.

there is no problem regarding nutrients with me
i have acces to tons of nutrients and manny other adittives , suplements and treatements

i will bring tommorow some 5 litters of watter with 0,6 EC made with calcium nitrate and some magnesium

And the best part is that all this is for free

I´ve brought home this:

StoreCa = 16% CaO + 0,6% MgO

And 5 L of water with 0,6 increment of StoreCa.

The watter hat a 0,41 EC and with the StoreCa is having 1,01 EC

Is necesary to add some nutrients ?

The run off from the bag was higher than 20 becouse of the nitric acid. I will test again tommorow the runn of from the calcium.

You need to pre load the coco with a veg nute designed for coco along with approximately 0.2-0.3EC of the cal/mag

i´ve flushed the coco bag until the runn off reached at 0,55EC (the tap water is 0,43 EC)
tommorow morning i will flush for the last time with the nutrient solution and cal/mag

i will give some more info
