depends on the size of the room. for 900 bucks id recommend a CFL grow, in soil, 6 plants or so. HID lamps get pricey, and cover more area then the rest of the 900 bucks can afford (soil/ferts/testers/bug spray....)
if you have plans to go big(ger), then spring the extra money for HID lamps, or stick with CFLs, and start spending on hydro stuff.

I recommend starting small before investing $850-900. $200 is MORE than enough for a 6 plant CFL grow. You'll learn a lot with those 6 plants. Then if you decide to go bigger with better lights etc, you can still use the CFL set up for cloning and seedlings.

Dude, its all about the size of the grow space. Don't piss your cash away. I made my 2-400 watt set-ups for about 250. It's not just about the flowering room either. Your gonna need room to veg., An area and equiptment to do clones. Ph and ppm meters, nutes, supplementals, jew loop, and other shit I can't remember. Pm me if I can help. Grow that shit bro!!

I have complete use of the room 15x20 roughly and would like to keep it contained within this space.
Patience is a virtue and I like to get the most for my funds (seeds sure aren't cheap).
When you new that is a given, but with the right instruction I'm confident the goal can be achieved.

Hell yeah! With a little knowledge, a little help, a little start up money, and a little work, you can kick it in the ass. Keep it as simple as possible. I suggest Dwc, and 400 watt hps. I just started some papaya, pineapple chunk, satori, blue mystic, critical jack, and bubba kush. I'm thinking of starting a journal for my grow, if I get the time, which seems to always be in such short supply. Anyway check out Mauler57, great guy whos highly accessable for some first timer info.
