Republicans vs democrats

could somebody please inform me what the difference is between a democrat and a republican, in 2009

If not, how about we all shut the fuck up cuz I'm sick of hearing people refer to and slam opposing parties.

let's not be children anymore, and let's not invest in a 2-party ideology where we "chose our team and slam the other one."

As a matter of fact, I think our political discussion would be much better if we didn't even use these two terms which bare absolutely no meaning

I think this would be a great challenge for people who still believe in the 2 headed one party system

but, but, but, but, but......

without the illusion of choice the lie of the ballot box becomes evident and we are forced to face the reality that we are allowing ourselves to be led to the slaughter. by deluding ourselves, the democrats can believe that theirs is the party of compassion and the republicans that theirs is the party of freedom and the game can go on until we are all nice and cozy in our comfortable slavery. no one wants to admit that all governments, being composed of individuals whose sole purpose is the accumulation of power over others, seek only to enslave their citizens. no one wants to admit that all the posing is a sham designed for no other reason than to gain control. no one wants to admit that the political animals they fawn over couldn't care less about the people they claim to represent.

The Democrats and Republicans take turns whittling away at the constitution.

In public they act like arch enemys but behind closed doors they are actually best buddies schemeing how they can fool the population into giving its money and rights away.

At this point in time anybody that fails to see the obvious and continues to affiliate themselves with a particular party are probably some of the most ignorant sumbitches on the planet.

OK, how about using the terminology: Liberty Devotees vs Statists?
how about a little truth in advertising, combining the democrats and republicans and calling them the pro-slavery party. how about just doing away with the corruption inherent in these huge political parties and forcing individual candidates to run on their own merits. i know, i know - without the power of these institutions, government couldn't ram through bills that strip us of our freedoms and whittle away our rights. then where would we be? a free people, unencumbered by the parental supervision of the nanny-state and responsible for our own fates? i doubt that most folks could stand the strain of such responsibility.

less government and more individual control
but we don't want control, that requires responsibility and we're far too busy bitching to pay that much attention to reality. we want those easy solutions and we want someone else to blame when it all goes to shit. we want a car in every pot and two chickens in every garage. we want a no money down, easy financing, all-wheel drive, big screen, technicolor life. we just don't want to have to work too hard for it. we want to be moral and charitable and free to do as we please and we want someone else to make sure that everyone else stays out of our way (by force if necessary) while we're doing it. we want it all without fear of failure, pain or suffering and we want it NOW. we don't care that we can't afford the best things in life, we'll just put it on credit and forget about it.

we just want to live long, healthy, happy, fruitful lives and we don't want to have to worry about how we'll get them. is that so wrong?
