Republican Corruption.

Just a very small example of partisan hackery, corruption, and lobbying influences that controls the republican party.

They all voted against the Truman Comittee.

30 out of 39 republicans voted against the Franken Amendment- in other words, they're pro-rape.

dude, don't you see that a lot of these constituents are mormons, and mormons endorse rape as a way of life....

nothing like a nice n tight 14 year-olds virgin vagina to really enjoy the effects of they're recently acquired viagra......

it's down to this with these greedy pricks:
they will vote no on everything
they know we the people are fed up with a do-nothing congress and figure we'll vote for a change, which means vote republican
so it's all about the 2010 and 2012 elections
nothing more, nothing less, and fuck the country

If you actually read the amendment, you would understand that voting against it does not mean they are pro-rape. It means they are against arbitration.
Lobbying isn't unique to the Republican Party, so don't say only Republicans are corrupt for listening to lobbyists. Every politician listens to lobbyists or have their hands in their pockets to some extent, Democrats included.

wrong - a vote for the amendment is a vote against binding arbitration. the amendment seeks to extend, nationally, the 5th circuit court's opinion that you can't sign away certain basic rights, like the right to sue your employer in a case of assault, battery, rape, and imprisonment.

the republicans voted against the amendment, thereby voting for binding arbitration which would bar the right to sue an employer for anything.

I like that Obama needs more time for a troop decision for our armed services, BUT has no problem shoving this healthcare bullshit down our throats.

You gotta just laugh at the juvenile mind of someone who would suggest that a member of congress is "pro rape." True, some of them are pro baby-killing and many are anti-america, but none of them are pro rape.

juvenility seems to have become a hallmark of our media and the rhetoric of our entire legislative system in general. i didn't, however, notice anyone blithering on about how those who voted for this bill were pro frivolous lawsuits and increased power for trial lawyers. the fact that the poster child for this amendment, jamie jones, did indeed end up going to court, despite any clause in her contract, has also tended to be glossed over by everyone involved. that the system worked seems secondary to the possibility that it might not have worked. as with so much legislation, they have taken a worst case scenario and built another bureaucracy around that possibility.

Just a little reminder to the braindead partisan hacks here at RIU,
The democrat party has a majority in the house & senate, you don't need votes from the other party to pass bills.
Is that too deep for you to understand?

fairly mindless comment

i mean, the obvious point is the healthcare debate started 9 months ago and McChrystal's troop request was Oct 10.

if you want to act like a grown up, quit talking like a 6th grader

completely mindless comment

i mean, the obvious point is that the current afghan conflict was being waged before his highass left the Illinois state senate, a position he was hardly qualified for.

if you want to act like a grown up, quit talking like a 3rd grader

I got as far as 2:45 into the video. That's all I could take of Franken and his whiny voice. Can you imagine? ... the kind folks of Minnesota have to put up with this piece of shit for the next six years? What better evidence do we need that ACORN needs to be dismantled?
