can you keep reptiles in the grow room? i thinking about buying a lizard or snake? what about co2? i vent every 2 1/2 hours so i think they will be alright... will they damage the plants possibly? what kind of bugs can i feed them that wont feed on plants?

it was going to be a large one(so its not climbing nothing) and caged off to the side when im not in there. its for valentines day for my girl. as far as i know lizard poo and bat poo should wash off... so i dont really think im going to tak ethat into consideration.

ridiculous idea dude. mites are all over your house, and your animals. many reptiles carry salmonella, their shit stinks, and if that dont do it, the lizard shit will probably clog your pipe !

a c02 controller will time your c02 with your ventilation to minimize waste, or you could let your little sister sleep in there, her breathing will keep the ppm's at around 1500ppm, depending on the size of your grow...but beware, she probably has mites too, and god knows what else !

messin with you dude, but true

peace

I have to agree. One important element to a successful grow room is cleanliness, and anyone who has had a reptile, even a caged one, knows they are not the cleanest animals.

Caged and cared for, no problems. here's some pix...

If you take care of your pets, you won't have pest or problems. Aquatic turtles are the main salmonella carriers, but others almost never have the problem unless you feed chicken. Take care of your animals, and your grow room, and you'll never have a problem.

whatsup with all the worry about animal shit do you guys have children? i mean thats everything and your plants absorb. no animal shit is used on my buds and i dont think reptiles can projectile shit.

Do NOT rub your reptiles with rubbing alcohol unless you want them to die. Warm baths and mild soap only!

cool thx any info on whether co2 will mess them up? i will probaly lower it a bit with an animal in there. so warm soap no alchohol kay. any suggestions on the choice of bugs? im thinking about a lizard what kind lizards are the hardy type as he will be in altered envirement

Reptiles thrive on raised temps and extra co2. If you can breathe, so can they. I don't get what you're asking about bugs; if you mean what to feed, it depends on the type of lizard or snake. I like crested geckos, but I'm mostly a snake guy, and giant constrictors are my forte...

cool thank you. you have made my day. happy valentines day. im about to do my research on some lizards adn buy one for my girl. thx again

You remind me of my co-worker...I also feel I will one day see him on the tv show "Fatal Attractions", eaten by his reptiles...lol
I love my reptiles. The bigger the better, the meaner, the more fun and interesting; and lets not forget the hots... Coc has nothing on a loose spitter or angry mamba.... I've got nearly two decades in cultivation, more than that in reptile husbandry. Kicks and thrills that make the heart pump are good for you! ..... as long as you know what you're getting into before hand...

Why does the reptile HAVE to be in the grow room? If you want animals near your plants grow outside.

Why not? Ample lighting, higher temperatures without lamps or pads, higher humidity.... perfect environment for most exotics. What's the problem? I've seen hundreds of pictures of peoples' dogs in the grow room and that CAN be disastrous!

That's the coolest idea, Feed him fat crickets but yeah grow rooms are the perfect habitat just don't smoke by your lizard, R.I.P. Noodles Garcia

my friend killed his iguana by accident. we filled up the tank with smoke to get him high plus a couple shot guns to the face and the next day my friend called me and said his iguana was dead. but when i left he was alive. something tells me he had a couple more puffs wen i left.......
