Repost From Toke And talk: Herbal Smoke

Thought I'd post this in here to try and get some HS responses(ANC).

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with a decent herbal smoke. I'm not really looking for the "legal highs", just something that I can puff on. Just sitting outside smoking a pipe is relaxing but something that had a relaxing effect would be nice.

So far I'm looking at mullein, passionflower, and damiana. Stuff I can make tea out of is a bonus and I'll likely try that method as well. I'm gonna tack some Synaptolepis kirkii on the order, too.

I have both mullien and damiana there both pretty mellow smoke, mullien is a lung herb. i think the damiana was smoother. i smoke them mixed about 2/3 mullien 1/3 damiana. im also growing some passion flower this seaon to try it fresh

Thanks for the info darth. I'm think I'm going to get some dry leaf of both of those from kt. It's cheap enough to be worth trying.

I got mine off ebay like 3 or 4 bucks for two ounces of each. kt's prices or quality could be better im not sure.

How potent are they? What are the effects like?

I have no experience with any of these. Just curious by what I've read about them.
what is Synaptolepis kirkii
A root that is supposed to "clarify visions" and possibly promote lucid dreaming. It's also supposed to help you sleep more restfully and wake up feeling rejuvenated. ANC posted his experience with it sometime back.Link --> https://www.rollitup.org/hallucinatory-substances/377083-lucid-dreaming-helpful-drugs.html

Just placed an order for mullein, damiana, and Synaptolepis kirkii. Will be sure to post when I get a chance to try them. I'm especially excited to try the Synaptolepis kirkii. If it really does make me wake up feeling rested it will be worth it's weight in gold.

I'm gonna rant for a minute in this thread.

I was pressuring for jars I was going to make liquid culture in. While they were cooking, the gasket blew out on the pc and now the lid is pretty much fused to the cooker. I've tried everything short of a blow torch to get the lid off, all to no avail. Argh. I hope that damiana proves to have some calming properties.

Let me know how this goes Sgt. Floyd, this might be just what i need to get off cig's...

My stuff came in today. It's a nice smoke. I can't smell so I can really comment on what it taste like much, but it smokes pretty smooth. Both of them do taste kind of odd to me. It's not bad, just different. I don't know how well it would help you kick cigarettes but I enjoyed rolling up a big joint and sitting on the porch smoking it.

Report on the Synaptolepis Kirkii to come.

A couple of days after placing the order I felt like there was something I was forgetting. I'd like the give the dream herb a try.

I think i may just have to try some then. See i think it will def help me with the cigs, i only smoke 2-3 cigs a day and honestly it's not really the nicotine im addicted to, its the act of smoking...

I hear you there, Mike. The main thing I miss is the whole ritual of smoking.. rolling it up, lighting it just right to get that 'poof' of flame.. I miss the time it gave me to collect my thoughts too. And the time to escape if need be
I'm usually a bongman myself, but initially I was smoking many spliffs to replace the act itself. It made it much easier. As time has gone on, the number of joints has dwindled and the craving for the ritual has subsided a bit. It's the social ituations that get me. A bottle of water, or a beer has helped in that respect..

How did your fast go btw?

Very interested in the findings! Who doesn't love clarification ;)

What's the overall texture of the smoke? I suppose I should peruse over the spoken words of ANC :D

I know Valerian root will create a short relaxing effect sort of like benzos that is more prominant than a placebo. Though I read it produces valeric acid from smoking it which probably tears up your esophagus something fierce. Though probably no worse than a pack a day of cigs...

Calea zacatechichi.
Would you say that this herb is up their in terms of effectiveness as other herbs such as kava kava , kratom, and salvia?

I tried blue lotus 20x extract by eating 0.5grams in a gel cap. I felt basically nothing! Blue lotus flowers produce a light smoke. They would add nice color to your blend.

Also, valerian has a subtle effect when consumed, similar to kava kava, but not nearly as effective. These effects do not last as long as the effects of kava kava
