I see people on here saying they will give a +rep if they help them out. What is this all about and how do i give somone a +rep.

im not sure what the rep actually means.. but to give a rep see that lil scale looking thing above the join date thats what you click on to rep someone.. guess its for ppl that like ur answers n that you have helped out..

+ rep is to add to someone's reputation points. It's, in a certain way, this forum's way to recognize people's experience and help. It can also add to your reliability to answers. I mean someone's who's rep is excessively low but has many posts could mean that he simple doesn't give good advice or doesn't know what he's talking about.
And as to how to give it:
-look at the top-right part of this reply box, and click on the little balance symbol. It's straightforward from there on.

At the very top of your post right next to where it shows the number of the post is a little set of scales. Click on this to give plus rep. Leave a short message and your name. This shows up at the bottom of your "my RIU" page. The more rep you get the better your reputation is on the site.

people are asking for reputation points. you can give someone rep by clicking the silver icon on the top right above your level in the post. when you click it, it will tell you to leave a comment a submit it

I dont know how but ive seen people with a neg rep. but then i looked at that persons post and all he did was talk trash about everything or complain alot.

you just hover the mouse pointer over the top bar on the right side of your post
maybe they had mad infractions and never got any +reps? i dont know, i never seen it myself

there used to be a negative rep.....
my guess is they oulawed it at the begging of the year.....
the bad thing about it was sometime people would just randomly give you neg rep hate male.....
i remebering getting neg reps for pics i posted for hottest guy on rui....
i wonder why they took it off????

You can still get neg rep from Elite members. They have donated money to the site. I just got one a week or two ago for not liking cops......lol
