remove blue LED from humidifier?

Hi-

I'm using the CVS Ultrasonic portable humidifier, which works well for small spaces with a couple adjustments (rubber feet - it runs very quietly when not in contact with the floor) and also I need to get rid of the blue led that is constantly on. It's underwater - can I just pop it off or will there be an open circuit? I'm comfortable splicing wires, but I don't have knowledge about LEDs or the boards they are attached to yet.

Anyone know how to turn this off?
Thanks.

I just tape over any indicator lights and black marker the tape if needed. anything but green.

underwater you say? that could be difficult to tape over, I think you're in the right section but have nothing to add since I'm not familiar with that device.

Foil tape. I have one of those floating ultrasonic misters that has a red LED and I just covered it up with that. No problems.

Then again, have you ever read what Ed Rosenthal says about blue light during lights out?

If you have any skills, you could just pop the cover off, and make sure the LED isn't run in series with anything, then cut the wire.
