There is nothing ethical about forcing people to associate in a nonconsensual manner. It is ethical to leave others alone or to defend oneself from unwanted intrusions. Government's nature is to intrude, therefore "regulations" that restrict freedom and use a one size fits all approach parternered with an "or else" threat are part of the problem, not the solution to a free society.
