Regalia / other fungicides .. .

Good Morning. I've seen alot of ups & downs on the topic of using a fungicide. If Its detrimental to the microbes in your soil. 1st off I'll say that I would like to do my grows without any fungicides, because I add microbes. Yet I've had a problem with Gray mold before (old stuffy house from the 1940's). So I have since then invested in Germ Gaurdian units that have hepa air filters with UV lights inside of them. scrubbing the air that goes into my intake fan of tent. I have also added several more fans & my air flow seems on point now inside said tent. Anywhere I put my hands in tent I can feel air movement now. After a conversation with a R.I.U. member I got a little freaked out about my microbes and I quit using Southern AG friendly fungicide. which I was using every 2 weeks. I did start using regalia because it seems safe (from all the research I can see). It's a plant extract that basically helps strengthen the plants immune system. So she can fight off any diseases before they start. I'm wondering how others use regalia in their regiment. I'm thinking the best way is to apply apply it once a month or maybe every few weeks and then do your Mammoth P or other microbe enhancer, several weeks after you use your Mammoth or whatever. Once again I wish I didn't have to touch the stuff at all. I threw away half a pound of huge buds and it was heartbreaking. & I have some strains like Stawberry Cough I'd like to try my hand at, that I've heard can have a lot of problems with mildew. Anyhoo, just looking for feedback on the topic & what others do? It does not eradicate your microbes like some people think. it just slows the process for a short period of time. that's why you need to spread it out a few weeks. I think I'll continue my plan with not using it on mold resistant strains. But continue application with the others more prone. Thanks for the feedback, as always.

I started using Regalia 2 grows ago and I'm finally seeing relief from Powdery Mildew.

I add a tablespoon per gallon of water when I feed, every 4 or 5 days.

I also use an airROS hydrogen trioxide generator to kill any spores in the air or on the surface of the plant.

GM. & thanks for the reply. I hope every few weeks is good enough. Another member told me he spaces it out like that, so I'm trying it. Makes me feel better about the microbes (conversation at hand) than every week. So far, so good. This is Red Mandarine by Sweet Seeds. I even cracked open a bud a little to make sure no issue with mold. All clean so far. & I'm a few weeks from harvest. I'm just trying to figure it all out because my next grow I'm doing ALL Organic. So might not use the stuff. Still debating on this next strain.

You should definitely check out Southern Ag Garden Friendly Fungicide. Even calling it a "fungicide" is just marketing semantics because it just contains bacillus amyloliquefaciens, which is a plant growth promoting rhizobacteria. If you spray it on your plants regularly, it outcompetes pathogens AND creates chitinase in the presence of chitin (crab/shrimp/lobster meal, barley malt, etc) or chitosan. A GREAT combo, for both root drenches and foliar is the Southern Ag GFF and a chitosan product-I've been using Hyshield lately. These two products together will stimulate ISR/SAR, promote growth, and create a hostile environment for pathogens, fungal and insect. You can buy a small bottle of GFF for $8 on Amazon, it is by far the most cost effective microbial inoculant on the market.

Hey bud. Good talk. I actually have a bottle. & was using it in conjunction with the Regalia. Yet I found more info on the Regalia & effects on microbes than I did on the Southern (maybe I didn't dig deep enough). So I shelved it for now. I think I might start using it again & alternative it every two weeks with Regalia. So Regalia then two weeks later Southern A.G. *Although I'll be honest. The foliar spraying anything during flower freaks me out. So I only was doing that in Veg. & early flower. Stopping at week 2 of flower with the spraying.. & switch to root drench.

That would be an excellent IPM combo, alternating each week. Regalia is an excellent product, just pricey, but if I had recurring problems, I would absolutely use it each grow. I've been lucky lately except for an outbreak of spider mites in my mother tent. Don't think of the Southern Ag as a fungicide, it's more like Mammoth P-a top tier rhizobacteria, but one that also happens to work well as a foliar. I don't normally spray in flower indoors, but I do outdoors before/after a stretch of bad weather-but only biofungicides/chitosan. I never put anything toxic on my buds, and remember, if you NEED to do foliars during flower, you can always wash your buds at harvest.

Geranium oil works great for pm.

Wow. I just dug deeper. Southern A.G. is Organic! So stoked on this!! Its going back in my regiment. Every 2 weeks I'll give her a little.

Glad you're giving the GFF another shot! If someone told you it kills your microbes (which is funny because it is literally microbes) it could have been an honest mistake. Southern Ag makes a ton of products and some have similar names, and not all are harmless and organic. Good luck, sounds like you are on the right track!

I think it was just an honest mistake because they saw I was giving regalia and Southern AG at the same time I was giving mammoth P and Recharge. They said I was wasting my time. Good to know they were just wasting my time, & not the other way around. Lol. Cheers bud

A citric acid foliar will prevent PM by lowering the pH on the leaves making it unable to take hold and grow. It's similar to using Potassium bicarbonate or milk which raises the pH. PM can only grow in a narrow range of pH. Raising or lowering it will make conditions unfavorable. I prefer using citric acid and sesame oil as a preventative over other substances. The citric acid is also a contact killer for bugs and is easily washed away during a bud wash after harvest.

Citric acid has many uses and is organic, non toxic, and treats a variety of issues that cannabis growers may experience.

There is no need to purchase expensive commercial products.

Citric acid is my favorite PH down too. Usually when you see "organic" PH down, like Earth Juice PH down, it's just citric acid.

It's also the active ingredient in products like NukeEm and Dr Zymes which are very effective at treating many ailments that plague cannabis growers. It really is an all around remedy that every grower should have in their arsenal. Plus it's extremely inexpensive and works.

What's your recipe? I've had good luck with nuke em on aphids and I also rotate it with Regalia as an ipm. Expensive like you said though.

I dont think the price of regalia is too crazy. I found a quart online for $70 and it will easily last me 2-4 outdoors. 2tbs/gallon..

2.5-3 tsp per quart. During veg I add 1/2 tsp of sesame oil.
