Depending on certain aspects, I could go for this. Beach CA and desert CA are entirely different areas, with entirely different concepts and entirely different people.

I feel for the conservatives who constantly get their vote smashed by the failed Neoliberal elite in SF & LA

It's ok San Diego is part of the desert area... just as conservative anyway :)

Californians are the least federally represented state in the Union. This is one way of addressing the problem.

It will be interesting to see what the voters decide.

It will be even more interesting to see how the rest of the country and the Feed respond.

So, if a bunch of thugs in Washington D.C. tell them they can't do this, what should the response be?

Thugs are people who kick people out of stores based on their skin color

So you'd use a gun to prevent a black guy from telling you he's free from your influence and has seceded from your claimed dominance over him? I'm not surprised.

You're a proponent of soft slavery and you'd use a gun to force a black guy to serve you against his will.

If I'm the racist why am I the one who's willing to "let" people run their own lives, while you're the one demanding black people serve you, against their will and on their own property even.

    Sounds like you're losing. Again.

I think they should be able to do what they want as a state. But I have my doubts about it passing. What would the economy of southerner California look like? San Diego and the border taxes going to cover the infrastructure build costs?

I don't know shit about California though, outside of family and friends who have lived there.

Well that was a brilliant argument.

I think the concept of a state being your super daddy is just a smaller instance of the Feds being your super daddy.

In both instances a bureaucracy of other people who claim to be your equal, and "represent" you, while using violent threats to rob you and possibly kill you for failure to suck their dick on demand.

It's easy to say you don't need big brother if you live in isolation and sustain yourself on your property. Beyond that, socializing infrastructure and regulating things that are in our best interest (fda, epa, etc) are necessary.

Nobody has ever liked the tax man, and nobody ever will. But it's part of the gig if you want infrastructure and clean water.
