Reds: What is needed to supplement/enhance a full-spectrum white?

Maybe you could wrangle up two same-spectrum CLU058s to compare?

I was just going by the descriptions where Apollo was described as the "best cost/performance", and Luna was "best lumens/watt". But I honestly have no idea how their prices break down.

I was told by @Alex Lau , that they were both the luna 300 series and they were, I think, $15-$20 more.
I plan on a 3500k 80CRI against 90CRI, but I don't think the difference will be noticeable with testing.
I would like to put the Luna 300 vs CLU058 @ 250 watts each against each other with testing.... Alex, you up for that ( the testing part), I'm poor, you guys have all my money:bigjoint:.

I like the Apache WR 3:2 spectrum
Yeah, I liked that light, too....but they just simply cost too much for my budget...so I went with the "poor man's copycat knockoff -A51 SGS 160. It has the WR spectrum, too. The plants responded well to it, I guess, but I'll never do business with them again because the owner is so sketchy.

When I got my first Timber Grow Lights COB fixture, I opted for the 4000K -because that's what everyone was touting as being "best" at the time. As I understand it, that color has more blue built into it from the start....but might lack in the red range a bit too much. I'm trying to determine what kind of supplemental reds I could/should add to my current 4000K COB fixture in order to optimize the spectrum for better flower production when the time comes. Timber now offers Osram Olson supplemental reds in kit form, but I'm looking for something pre-fab that I could just plug-n-play...

...I was looking at how the Kessil fixtures can be mounted to the internal tent poles and thought maybe a Timber Osram might be able to be mounted to an armature or something similar, too...

...but, again, how many watts of Osram reds and which specific red colors)?

I know, now, to only run a 730nm red for 15 minutes AFTER the regular lights go out...so that would likely have to be a dedicated fixture to do only that one thing....

As far as the other reds are concerned...I had the idea to run my Timber CXB400R 4000K fixture "soft" for veg and then crank it up for the flowering cycle....then start adding more and more red into the schedule in order to mimic how the color of light changes as fall approaches...and simultaneously decreasing the 4000K light output via the dimmer...ultimately ending the harvest with a very red-heavy mix of light...just to see if it would make a difference in yield and/or potency (in comparison to previous harvests under just the 4000K color throughout the entire run)

Yeah I love my Apaches and their 3:2 spectrum. I have an a51 sgs 160 as well and while it's a good unit, it doesn't come close to the Apache even with similar spectrums and cree chips. Just my observation when I ran the two side by side.

Those timber osram kits are cool. I also like the red rapid led bars too. Would love to see folks start mixing them with their cobs.

Just be careful with the ratios of w:r and take the white color temp into consideration with the ratios. Cooler temp, more reds. Warmer temp, less.

I don't think there's a magic formula that has or hasn't been discovered, but I do think the 3:2 Apache recipe is great.
