Red pistils...already?

Hey everyone, just returned from my lone female after giving her her first shot of high phosphorous nutes - by my rough estimation, I would say she is in the second week of flowering - lots of pistils starting to emerge, but not any real fruit formation as of yet. My question is in regards to the pistils - some of them have red tips, and a couple are even completely red. Is this common/good/a problem? I've never grown before, and this bagseed experiment has been given high nitrogen nutes on and off - it does get a good amount of sun - but I'm just curious to know if this is somewhat common - or if it just depends on the strain or what - thank you for any replies.

a lot of the early ones will turn brown, drop off, etc. just as the plant goes into full flower. you were prob in pre-flower before now.

Interesting - so does pre-flowering count towards the overall "flowering" time period? As in, does it begin when pistils appear? I thought I had about 6 or 7 weeks remaining, but let me know if I'm less into flowering than I previously thought. I'm going to go by the trichomes anyways, but wanted to know for future reference.

once you have alternating phylotaxy on ALL new growth you know you're in the flowering stage. it takes a little while for the plant to change gears, so even though it shows sex it's not necessarily flowering just yet.

iow, no, the pre-flower time doesn't count. as long as you're going by trichomes you're on the right track!

now im curious to the red your talking about, is it red, or brown, if its red, and it doesnt look dryed up, this most likely means your gonna have some killer pot my brother.

It's happening with my biggest girl as well. It's nothing to worry about.

the plant may begin to preflower months before it enters true flowering, depending on the age of the plant and the length of the season, usually the nodes will begin to alternate in a sort of zig zag formation and begin a week or two of "stretch" time where they grow very fast before true flowering starts and the upward and outward growth of the plant slow down. pink hairs are normal to some strains and mean nothing about flowering, a few dried brown hairs are normal, the preflowers will wither as they age before the rest of the new budlets that will begin to form.

My plants are in preflower right now and about a foot high. Will they grow taller if I keep vegging them under 16 hours of light

Yea im in week 3 of flowering and i noticed pure red pistils emerging in between the white pistils. Not really Sure if its a good thing or what, i cant find any info, help me out here. Hope its a good thing!!!!!?????

I am starting week 4 of flowering and notice some pistols are red or dark brown. Majority are still white but this is a normal thing.

Not bad for 3 weeks and 4 days in eh?
