Red liquid after topping: do weed plants bleed?

So I just topped my plant, and as soon as I cut it, a good bit of red, sticky liquid came out the top of the stem. I have never seen this or heard of this happening before. Is this normal?

Was the nutes you were feeding red?

Ahhh yea that'd do it... that's probably a sign that I should cut back on the nutes huh?

i don't think it's the nutes. i think they just do that. i've seen it a lot.

I topped one of mine a couple of days ago and it did the same,

Same..only I did mine 2 wks ago....and they're fine...

omg lol, I cant top mine, it will bleed and ill /wrists to make it even!
