Thats a matter of personal preference. Many will say watch the trichs for amber colouring and chop when you have your desired ration of milky/amber trichs.
But.... ive grown a couple strains where the buds finished without amber trichs so....
If the hairs are red and the buds aint gettin bigger then get your axe out....

No Amber ones that I noticed but about 70% of pistils are red and noticed a lot of milky white crystals. Today is day 59 from when pistils first appeared
Indeed a very difficult question to answer. I had a critical kush entire grow that started ambering hairs around week 4. Thought it may have been pollinated. Went another 5 weeks and finally no seeds no nothing. So get a loupe, inspect thichs and chop when content with those numbers.
On average about 2-3 weeks, but is strain(pheno) sensitive, avoid using this to judge.. but like above ...
use the trics color as ur guide, use this pre harvest anxiety as a time to double check everything before harvest and take notes

A better way to judge is when all the hairs have receded, curled in, it's usually within a week after that, but yes the best way is to get a loupe and check out the trichomes.
