Was hoping someone here could help me out a little :S
some leaves seem to be discolored and shriveling up looking like they are dying etc.

Not very experienced with the marijuana plant itself, but it looks like that could be a virus, my friend. Either that or nute burn. But I'm betting on virus.

Are those hempy buckets? Hydro needs air in the water, period. Hempy works but you can't expect them to be all perky. Your roots are really yellow, they aren't in danger or anything but they don't look healthy either. It's not a virus, you have something going on. How is your PH?

i did have it pretty high before hand.as i forgot to change the res... and panicked filled it up halfway.. and then all this began!! :(
flushed it... made a fresh solution!!
it was around 5.5 - 5.8 when i last checked ealier!!

it looked like this before!CameraZOOM-20111007131217.jpg

You'll be ok. It looks like nutrient lockout. Flush them with proper pH water, then give them nutrient solution and you'll be good to go. The claw leaves will perk back up, but the mottled ones won't recover. Leave them on though; your plant can feed on them for a bit.

if you dont airate the water it can cause problems i would get an air pump and put the hose in it or something to let the water have O2 in it

Then why reply? No wonder there is so much bad information out there. do everyone a favor and stay in toke-n-talk. A newbie asks fo help and you tell him "a virus"? LOL

this happened to me on my first grow, i ended up putting a mesh screen thing underneath the roots to keep them out of the water. that brownish tint to the roots is rot. they should be white. like snow.
are your roots sitting in the water? that could be the cause. if a mesh screen isnt an option, add more air pumps/stones into the water. that will help too. the roots need water, but they need oxygen too, and plenty of it

yer they were more than halfway submerged at one stage! and i thought i was drowning my plant!
so i lowered my solution level in the res!
its only a small reservoir, and the roots are touching the bottoms and growing all around it now,
its about 2 inches or so full maybe less atm!! after i emptied it from being over halfway!
Is there anything i can do about the yellowing! honestly its always been a little yellow :S
not sure if its due to diy buckets light leakages etc.!
problem is theres not much space for a bigger res! :S

thanks for the helps dude!
peace!

Surprise! Viruses affect plants, idiot. And that looks like a virus to me. So stfu.

If your air pump has an external filter, (check the bottom), it may be clogged. make sure your making bubbles. Any heat issues? do you have a fan on the plants?

What I do is I let my water sit for at least 24 hours with the lid off, and during that I have another air pump (I upgraded my airpump to a dual one) that I use to aerate the water before dumping it in the res. The amount of water you have shouldn't effect anything, I fill mine right up to the top of the res and let the plant drink it all before I replace it, takes about a week.

Also if you bubble your water before putting it in, it'll help release the chlorine from the water

yer i have a fan her might have some heat issues every now and then! usually around 24oC or 28 max!!
only using regular air pumps and stones! i have a cycling pump, but i wouldnt know how to rig up a res and bed etc!! as this is like my first grow!!
cheers

Dumped in another pump and stone,,can it be over aerated? should i add another stone to make it 4 ?
