Recommendations on an ac unit

I need to buy an ac unit for my room where I have a 600 hps in A 5x5 tent and a 600 led in another 5x5 tent. I can’t duct air from other rooms or outdoors.

Does anyone have a setup like this or have a solid ac unit they use or know about?

One thing you wanna look for is a unit that will restart after a power outage. Wouldn't want the plants to cook if power went off and came back on while youre not around.

Are you looking for a portable or a window shaker?

Avista is the name of the portable I use. It got a good review and has a big compressor for its size. You will need a way to exit the a/c exhaust though. I had to cut a hole in my door to run it out the window in my living room. It cools a 5' x 12' room with a 4' x 4' grow area. Cools 2 CMH 315s and a 4' 6 bulb T5 with ease. 8000 BTU Avista, I paid like $250 for it. Not sure if it will turn back on after a power outage. That's a good question. I'll have to trip the breaker and test that. The fan does run nonstop even when the compressor is off, which is good.

Some portables have a feature that allows them to vent the condensate out with the hot air, those are handy because you don't have to run a condensate line. I have one of those in my bedroom EdgeStar AP14001HS.

i am sorry i must slap all the ppl that said portable too u .....nothing personal
look at the energy cost vs the cooling area .........portables are one of the most impractical grow devices there are ( keeping grandma cool they are find but other then that not worth the money)

your runing a 600HID and 600led

1 is the HID a cool tube set up if it is lowers the the BTUs needed for area

the basic rule of thumb i was taught by the old timers is 4000BTUs per 1000w open hood of HID ..........with a LED it depends on the brand some of them suck air from sides and blow up some suck air from top and plow out the sides

but based on what u said a 10k btu window shaker will work for the room ........just make sure the tents are at or above the 5 min air cycle time ............note to cover your ass a window shaker will drip water that water will set off drug dogs like no tomarrow .......where it drips u want to place coffee grounds and rose bush or jasmine flowers
