Ready to harvest?

Hey all, havent got a decent pic because of crappy camera, but hopefully some info may help somewhat.
I planted a kandy kush x skunk 1 early june, and had it outside, growing to 2 foot 20 inch, then brought it indoors 2 weeks ago, under a 600w hps. Since then, buds have fattened up a lot, trichomes are milky, but some are also clear, and theyre standing straight, and looking bulbous. Buds have a few red hairs on them now, but some pistils are still white and standing up, but most have receeded and are salmon colour, especially on the upper buds. The smell is very strong, and trim leaves etc are very frosty. Its very resinous and very sticky. I know the whole harvest when 2/3 pistils are reddish brown thing, and waiting a bit longer will fatten up further, but my question is, is it ok to harvest now, and if I do, how much weight would I lose by not waiting a couple more weeks? The pics were from saturday, buds are even fatter now. Also, I know its a pretty hard question to answer, but from my plant, whats the estimate on dry weight, considering il be drying naturally? thanks201013-0314.jpg201013-0314(001).jpg201013-0313.jpg201013-0313(001).jpg

I just finished a Sleeslack x Skunk#1 and I harvested at about 9 1/2wks. The buds swelled up big time, the fattest buds out of the 4 strains I grew. So if my Skunk#1 hybrid has many of the same traits as yours I would advise you to give it more time if possible. GL.

thanks, thing is with it being outdoors first, i didnt properly check when it started flowering, so for all I know, it could be upto 6 or 7 weeks now lol. If i did chop it now, how much weight would be lost compared to if i did wait? would the high still be good now?

I'm growing outdoors also and I start counting as soon I see white hairs growing out of the very tops of the bud sites, not when you start seeing white hairs at the nodes and up the stems. I figure this way I end up letting my plants finish more mature instead of immature. Like everyone says "if you think it's done, give it another week". Not only will you lose some yield (I have no idea how much) you will more than likely end up with buds that are not as dense as they could be. When buds bulk up they seem to get harder and denser, from my observations.

thanks guys. the pistils from the very top of the buds, as far as i remember anyway, came out about early september, so prob would make it 7 weeks into flowering, like i say, the past 2 weeks, have had it indoors, under a 600w hps. thanks rhino, good link, and quite a few pistils are reddish brown already, and very much receded into the buds, although the bottom branches seem to have a lot of white hairs still. The trichs are mostly cloudy and milky, with just a few clear ones, no amber yet though. Yeah the pics are crap lol, but with a better camera, would be able to see that they were more ready. Im thinking maybe another 2 weeks of growing before i harvest, as its mainly a sativa, dont really want that many amber trichs.
I have a northern lights x big bud auto growing too, its on 45 days growing, says 50-55 in the guide, the top buds are rock hard and almost totally brown pistils, and trichs look cloudy and milky, but the bottom buds look hardly done, is it a good idea to chop the top ones now, the bottom ones later?

it doesn't matter the number of days you are in flower, or what the breeder says. the plants are the ones that let you know when it's time. you gotta figure the breeder is very familiar with his strains, plus he has a near perfect environment.
