re-germing a seed?

hey people,

Ok so i was germing a seed paper towel method started it sunday i last checked on it thursday morning and it still hadnt cracked well i was away for 2 days went to check on it today & everything was bone try the tissue, no water and the cling film over the top was gone (i think some one sabotaged it!!)

(the seed sunk when put into a glass of water)

But i tryed it jus now and it dont sink!!

Im gonna try re-germ it ??? is that possable to re-germ it or is it now a dud seed
 
You can definitely re-germ it. I had one seed out of a bunch that didn't germinate so I just held on to it and tried germinating it a few weeks later and voila, it grew. My guess at why this happened would be because the seed needed to imbibe water in order to finish the metabolic processes required for it to be able to germinate.
 
I like puting water in a little dish and put the seeds in it. Then I put the dish on top of the cable box and within hours it cracks. Good luck.
 
cable box bit risky lol,, i take it the reason why you put it over a cable box is that it give off heat??

I'm 99.9% positive he puts it up there for heat...and not to so they can watch pop eye at 3am...

I myself enjoy the pop eye method....
 
Yup it makes the water a good 78-80 degrees. It works all the time. First time I doubted it would work and wasted seeds cause all of them germed but I didn't have room for all the seeds to be planted.
 
havnt got a heat pad, warm water would cool down in 5mins, man im starving jus had a major belly rumble lol jus fort id let you all no, ermmmmm heat source i cant think of anything really, My grow room is about 77 maybe jus wack it in there buy cover the top so the light dont get to the seed?
