RDWC Questions

Alright, Ill try to word this so its not too confusing. First the set up.
Im building a RDWC system for a single plant. The large reservoir outside the grow room is larger then the bucket the plant is growing in.
My water pump will be located in the larger reservoir pushing water to the plant in the grow room.

Most RDWC setups that I have seen like this will pump water into the bottom of the bucket and have the return located on the bottom of the bucket as well.
Question:
Is there any reason the water getting pumped in couldn't be at the bottom with the gravity return more toward the middle or top of the two buckets?

When I did my rDWC my 1/4" feed lines would come out at the top of the 5gal buckets with a 1/2" drain return line on the bottom of the bucket. Each bucket had its own airstone from 110l/m air pump.

Here is the tutorial I followed: Link

Right, but in this tutorial everything is running from the bottom. What you are saying is your system ran its return from the top of one bucket to the bottom of the next, correct?

Never mind on closer inspection this system uses a different type of feeder inlet then Im used to seeing. Pretty cool stuff.
