To get my extract have a pollinator i brought some 20 years ago its been a great tool.
first time thought of it and weighed the total amount of leaf put in and what came out
78 grams went in 19 grams came out. which really quite surprised me as it was only bud leaf and a bit of larfy bud
what ratios of extract to input do you get?

The lowest was a land race at 5.7% and the highest are indoor recreational strains which average around 18 to 20%, with the highest I've personally seen just under 25% crude extract, but heard of higher claims.

The problem besides the different strains and growing conditions, is what all is extracted in the crude. If you extract at -50C for instance, you will leave behind the plant waxes and most of the molecule chains above our targeted C-10 through C-22, like carotene, chlorophyll, and pheophytin. You extract less mass, of a higher purity and quality.

When we extracted bubble hash, we got about a 70% yield, the rest being plant debris and cellulous left over from the trichome stems and discs.

Some interesting figures, Thank you have always used a pollinator, would that leave much behind in the way of waxes and other bits you were talking about.
what do you consider the best extracton method

A pollinator tumbler doesn't collect the plant waxes from the leaves, just that coating the trichomes, but you can't get a full extraction without picking up plant debris. I use a BHO or QWET extraction for my concentrates.

thanks for that love a bit of knowledge

Interesting, the several Hash QWET I’ve done were in the freezer (not dry ice -60f cooler method like I do with cured flower) and results were ~68-70% net oil from decent Hash (no observable plant matter).

When I run -60f dry ice cooler
QWET, I’ll average ~4.3 Gr golden wash after 25 min cooler soak. About ~15.4 % net oil.

Using the same Herb, if I run room temperature Ethanol wash one Oz. I end up with 6.5-7 Gr oil...”uhhh the goo”.

To me the numbers add up as 22-23% Thc strains will produce about 6.4 Gr Kief per Oz. using 160u filter, without pulverizing the herb.

(QWET dry ice net yld of 4.3 Gr oil then would appear to be leaving 31% of undesirables behind.)
Vapes good, that’s all I care about & the room temp ”goo”
makes good little gelatin edible capsules with a little peanut butter in each one!!!
