Hi

I'm new to growing and I am looking to start out right and get a proper COB kit but since I am in Canada I don't want to break the bank and would like to order everything from one place to save on shipping and duty costs instead of ordering from 4 to 5 websites.

I have been doing lots of research and I stumbled across this COB kit at RapidLED

http://www.rapidled.com/cree-cxb3590-triple-cob-array-kit/

Has anyone used this kit before? I searched RIU here and google and I cant find anyone that's ever ordered this kit before. Is the customer service at RapidLED good? Any tips? Thanks

Those are solid kits and well supported. not to put them down but if you're Canadian, you should run the numbers against one of these pre-built. $300 USD with exchange/duty/shipping is $500 CAD easy.

These guys sell a 4 COB pre-built panel and prices are in CAD, out of BC:

Their 16 Cree rig is insane. Bright as the sun. I love it. 8)

Heh. Little something to show...
We've taken months to design something YEARS ahead in efficiency, and thermal control. Passive. Perfect coverage at edges. Slim, cost efficient.

Patented Chip Technology (we make our own CHIPS down to the DIE LEVEL)
This fixture is so underdriven, the efficiency is incredible.
It's an 1800WATT (1800 chips), driven at 640 WATTS.

Under driving does not always = incredible efficiency.

Good marketing though. Im sure some clueless people will purchase based on your blanket statement.

Come on Alex. You're not gonna maintain respect around here with flowery writing with zero backup.
HOW EFFICENT?

It's 640 watts if you get in to the BS marketing of making up wattages of lights based on the max an led can handle then you'll be along side mars hydro and those likes.

So "YEARS AHEAD IN EFFICIENCY" you must be over 200 lumens per watt and have a "years ahead" umol per watt that beats out the current Vero 7s driven at 40 watts correct?

Your leds are respectable but unless that light beats out 16 CXB 3590 driven at 640w then yeah. You're gonna have to hope your imaginitave marketing catches buyers.
Historically your leds do not compete with the current top cobs so do you have any data on what has to be your new cobs?
