ok here is my situation. I started ten White window seeds, and 5 grapefruit seeds in rapid rooters. I didnt pop the seeds befroe putting them in the rooters. I placed them on top of the cable box and kept the tv on for like 10 days. they sprouted but started getting really long looking and falling over from how lanky they were. Are they done? or could i still transplant them in a 3 gallon growabag and put them under my t-5s? what cause this to happen? was it heat issue?

Are they stretching for light? What kind of light are you using and how far is it from the plants?

i placed a cover over the rapid rooter tray that had one t-5 attached to the top of it. for about a week it was left like this on top of the cable box. this was happening prior to me putting the t-5 over it. are the seedlings that have fallen over crap? the leaves on top of them appear healthy and green

Sounds like maybe you need to get em out of whatever they're in. HOW FAR AWAY IS THE LIGHT??? 1 T-5 isn't enough.

the t-5 was right on top of them, i have transplanted them in 3 gallong growbags and have them under a 4 tube t-5 set-up right now, i just dont know if the ones that were falling over in the rapid rooters will be crap or if they will adapt in the soil under more light now?

I've not had good luck with Rapid Rooters and prefer RockWool.

Your little babies will survive if you do the following:

Buy some of those cheap plastic picnic forks. Place the handles of the forks into your grow medium, one per plant. Gently place the stem of the plant between the tines of the fork, being very careful not to let the fork snap back and break the stem. That will give the plant the support it needs. Now, place a fan in front of your plants and have it GENTLY blow across the plants. This will strengthen the stems, just like weight training strengthens our bodies. As the plant gains strength and size, you can remove the forks and the plants will stand on their own.

Some strains are like that. Its important to have that air circulation going so the stems will strengthen. Once the babies can stand on their own, you're on your way. If you're using floros for the little ones, get the light to within a few inches from the tops of the plants. That will keep the stretching down a bit.
