R+: I have a question setting up my carbon filter.

for it to be more effective, when i set up my exaust fan with the carbon filter, do i want the exaust to push air into the filter, or suck air out of the filter?

I have mine inside of my cab sucking the air into the filter and venting it out the side of the cab.

You wanna suck air INTO the carbon filter.
