quik questions.. answers please :)

i recently just received a 6 inch plant from a buddy. im pretty sure its a clone and was just wonderin if i can grow it decent under two 26 watt soft white cfls (1600 lumens each). i realize im going to have to get some warm white cfls for flowering but not for a while right???


would also appreciate some tips on pruning. i want to keep the plant small and still producing decent quantities.

Yea you can grow it fine under those lights mate, wouldn't expect more than a few grams tho. And like you said, the warm white lights would be good for flowering but won't need them till you choose to flower.

Because the light isn't all that intense, your plant will 'stretch' a bit, causing longer lengths between the nodes (longer internodes).

If you keep those lights and that plant in a small area, surrounded by what paper or plastic or paint (whatever, as long as its white haha), that will optimize the lumens and allow you to get the most out of the lights and plant. (The larger the area, the further the light has to travel when reflected and therefore the less intense it will - as according to the inverse square law, light deminishes over distance).

Hopefully someone else who does microgrows can help you out a bit more mate, cheers.

alright. thanks a lot for the help. think theres anyway i could get more bud out of it??? add a couple more lights perhaps? i'd really like to no. this is basically my first plant other than a few seeds i germinated and planted but got eaten.

Simply put: More light = more bud.

Best thing to do is use the search feature and just spend ages doing research on what people did right or wrong in their grows, read a grow journal or two.
Read up on cloning and clone that plant so if you do mess it up for what ever reason (and there are a lot of reasons lol) you can use the clone to try again, and clone that clone once its big enough etc.

Best thing for u to do, besides spendin hours readin, Ive already done the reasearch, just go buy 6 10 dollar 24" grow lights from Walmart. Buy a cheap roll of duct tape and tape them together. U will have a killer vegin light. U will also need at least 250 watt hps light for good solid buds. Plant in my pic is about 15 days old under 6 walmart grow lights. I had to pull my plants long story but as u can see it grows em nice and green and bushy.
