i bought some white widow seeds from nirvana and i have looked around some more afterward and have noticed other sites claiming a higher thc percent than nirvana. is that possible? are there different types of white widow? also i plan on growing mostly outside in a pot, will that also effect thc percentages? if i do grow inside are there lights that will work well that dont cost a fortune? i'd really like to spend less than 10 bucks on lights, im on a budget. if i do grow inside ill only do about 2 the rest will go outside. sorry if this thread is not in the right place my questions are kinda scattered and im new to forums all together! first time grower! outside white widow....yes i know it wasnt a good idea lol but i have only smoked regs and heard this stuff was the bomb so i had to do it !! please help!

you better grow outside with 10 bucks of budget for lights.
the percentage changes between plant to plant, bud to bud and genetics does its thing too. white widdow is cross and crossing stronger parent should produce a stronger cross. it can be different, but its mainly up to your growing skills.
there are better white widdows, but it seems to be your first grow and it should do well for now.

I had a great experience with Nirvana - popped 7 of their seeds, all popped and 4 are females I'm entering the 4th week of flowering with.

Strain names are not owned and anyone can market their own version (knockoff) of any strain and call it by the same name as the original. Most White Widow is a knockoff of the original White Widow now sold under the name of Black Widow (Mr. Nice Seeds – breeder Shantibaba).

Even Green House Seeds, where the original White Widow came from, does not have the original genetics. Shantibaba setup Green House Seeds and was part owner and after White Widow won the Cannabis Cup in 1999, if I remember the year correctly, egos went wild and the three owners split up and Shantibaba sold his portion of Green House Seeds and left taking his genetics with him and then opened up Mr. Nice Seeds and renamed the Cannabis Cup winning White Widow Black Widow since there was already so much confusion about White Widow because so many people were already making knockoffs and buyers assumed it was the original White Widow.

Most strains you find of any name from different breeders is their version, their knockoff, and not the original genetics.

a 150W HPS should do the trick.
or 200-300W CFLs, but you will need that power in 2 colors - 6500K and 2700K.

HPS is better. don't know about the costs where you live but the light penetrates further which means more parts of the plant will get light which means the lower buds will be much better.
