Quick question.

Something I cannot seem to find any information about, It is regarding venting my air cooled hood.

I have a 6" hydrofarm 400 cfm fan on it's way, I plan on going:

intake filter>fan>duct>hood>duct>exhaust

Would It be viable to put a cheap $30 250 cfm booster fan to help exhaust, would there be a downside to this? It's just an odd theory I have to help the flow instead of it passively blowing out after the light, It might be completely crazy and just sounds good in my head, tell me what you think!

I understand most people prefer to pull the hot air out, I'm just a believer in that resulting in shortening fan life with heat/humidity.

Being my 1st grow any advice Is greatly appreciated! thanks.

Consider intake filter>duct>hood>duct>fan (outside room if possible)>duct (if necessary)>exhaust. :leaf:

Can I take that back? The more I read the more I see your point. I'm just not liking the idea of putting a fan in the grow tent. Doing more research........ I'm trying to see what the cfm diff is between pulling vs pushing. These inline fans have to be designed for one or the other...doesn't seem possible it could be equally efficient at both.

Also, do you think that filter will negate 37% of the CFM power of your hydrofarm 400? If not then that 250 will simply be a restriction. Plus I don't much care for those boosters.
