Quick Question flowering time

Hey this may be a dumb question but im a noob so here it goes. Whens the earliest you can begin to flower regardless how much bud you will get. Does it depend on the strain? Im growing a bag seed and it MAYBE northern lights because thats what the person i got it from said it was, but idk what it really is. THANKS
