Hey folks, i got a quick question. im lookin at the trichs under the microscope i got and noticed its 10x easier to cut off a leaf and examine it under the microscope than it is to hover over my plant and oberve the trichs on the actual buds themselves.

my question is will the trichs on the leaves next to the buds show the same signs of aging (i.e. turning milky/amber) and tell me when its time to harvest or do they change colors at a different time than the trichs on the buds?

Great question man I've been doing the same exact thing with my radioshack scope, just cutting off a leaf. So if anyone knows the answer to this question that'd be great.

The trichs will vary by where they were taken from on the plant. I try and snip samples from half-a-dozen spots when making the ultimate decision.

Recently discovered excellent viewing w/RShack scope by viewing sample(s) on a mirror. Works great!

I use a 30x jewelers scope. Its easy to check the buds on the plant. Than when I take a tester I use a 30x lighted scope to check that particular bud before i dry and test the high.

Just practcie and take taste tests. The ripeness and how you determine it is something I feel is a personal thing. Ones tastes may not match anothers and each will have their own technique. What erver make syou happy and comfortable is good. They are your plants after all. Have fun and good luck.

yea, im assuming that depending on where from the plant you check the trichs (i.e. main cola vs near the bottom) but do the trichs on the leaves show the same results that the trichs do on the buds next to those same leafs? Ive been trying to get a good look at the buds but havnt been able to on a consistant enough basis to make a valid conclusion...
