Quick question about flowering nutes... (+rep)

I am nearly ready to flower my blue cheese and blue widows. I had a big issue with nute burn in the first month as the soil I bought ended up having added nutes in it (even though it didn't say this anywhere on the bag) and as I didn't know this I started adding a 1/4 dose of biobizz bio grow at week 3 which ended up burning the plants badly.

Since then I have been using plain water and they have made an excellent recovery.

My question is, when I flower should I start using flowering nutes and risk burning them again or should I just fertilise when they show signs that they are deficient?

P.S I have no idea how much of the 'factory added' nutes are still left in the soil but they are totally deficiency free with plain tap water after 2 weeks still!

Thanks for any responses!

I would start adding some flowering nutes but at a very low rate i would add like 1/8th the amount suggested or maybe even 1/10th to make sure they don't burn and if that little amount burns the plants that would be crazy because there shouldnt be but so many nutes in the soil. Anyway once you add the small amount of nutes you should see after a day if they burn or not and if they dont just slowly bump the nutes up every water. Like if it suggest using 50ml. i would start off with like 5-10 ml and next water add another 5-10 ml depending on how your plants react

So first water 5-10ml next water 15-20ml and if no burn after the first two times you add nutes you should be in the clear and i would go at like 3/4 strength so like 35-40 instead of the 50. Then if they handle that go full strength the next week. But take 2-3 weeks to slowly get them into full strength nutes and make sure they dont burn and if you do burn them its a very small and minimul amount since you are adding a small amount of nutes and only bumping it up a little every water.

I have found a binge and purge type of method to work well for me. I only water every 3 days ( every other at most) and I go in a cycle of full nutes the first watering and 3/4 next and half next and straight water on the 4th watering and the I let them dry out for 3-4 days and then start over and when I start over I get a growth spurt that is quite noticeable. (I use Jack's Classic)

Excellent Information for us "Old New Guys"--- it isn't being done now, like it was 30 years ago, That's for sure ! I had a 1/8 acre of some of the finest Northern California had to offer a man on an outside gig,dug out the plant-holes outta stone terraces,up the side of a Beautiful mountain, for TWO summers before the planting finally took place. We a "Gold-Claim" thru the state, on the Merced River. We filled the holes with Pig,Horse, and a wee bit of Bat-shit,rolled a culvert over a natural spring at the top of the mountain, and let gravity watereverything thru drip-lines, and forgot about the feeding thing until they were cut down ! Some of THOSE girls, were 12 foot tall, and 10 foot around at the base . THAT'S the extent of MY growing expierences, and the thought of "Indoor Nutes" never even crossed my feeble old mind! THANX YA"LL
