Quick Nutrient Watering Question

This is my first "real" grow (opposed to being young and retarded trying to grow under a single cfl 20w, 90 degrees, etc). I am growing under 3 38w cfls at the moment 3 inches from plant (plugged into a lamp from target that look like metal snakes that enables you to move the light wherever!), fan (Temperature at 76 degrees in the day and 70 degrees at night), reflectix covering the 2x6 space, miracle grow soil, ph for the water set at 7.2 (because miracle grow is so low). My baby is 12 days since sprouting (my avatar at the moment) and its looking pretty good from what I can see. I know the obvious of a few inches down in the soil is dry and you should water, but how often do you water with nutes. Is it every other watering or what? I currently have vegatative stage nutes from a hydroponic shop (Pure Blend Grow 3-2-4). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Is your Miracle Grow soil the kind with nutrients already added? I used this soil my first time and I didn't add any nuts as the soil was already fertilized. I had some burned tips from the start but nutrients were not added.

This soil was also used in the book, How to Grow 8oz for under 100 bucks. I don't think he used nuts at all with that soil. If you haven't checked the book out you should, it got me started. There is a thread in the CFL section that talkes about the book.

I've moved on to a soil-less mix as recommended by the folks here.

You might ask, I'd be curious if anyone else here uses Miracle Grow soil?

Just started my first soil grow. Using MG despite all of its negative reviews. I'm not planning on adding any nutes, and I'm also prepared for nute burn since the nutes are pretty strong for seedlings.

alot of people use fertilze to much or they mix it to strong ....they get a salt build up in their soil and the results.... burning on the outside of the leaves or the plants leaves starting to die....they end up flushing the rootball out with water

I have found as a general rule for growing in dirt....you can use any fertilzer everytime you water but only use 1/2 the amount of what the directions call for.

Example.... I use greenleaves grow juice...directions call for 1 oz fertilizer per gallon of water...... I use 1/3-1/2 oz per gallon everytime I water...I never have a problem with nute lock

The reason I use Greenleaves fertilizer.. added to your tap water it will turn the water different colors to show PH levels of the water

The ESU Greenleaves Grow Juice formulation is completely soluble and contains the major and secondary nutrients including nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, calcium and magnesium that are essential for plant growth. Greenleaves Grow Juice contains a color coded pH monitor which yields acidic pH (6.0-6.5) when mixed with distilled or tap water. The applicable color scale and corresponding pH are as follows: yellow ph 6.0-6.7; orange ph 6.8-7.8; purple: greater than 7.8.

I also use their Bloom Jucie and Boost juice...........shit does a plant justice:weed:

My little seedling was strong at 12 days and needed water so I gave it 1 tsp veg food that I spoke of above with around 36 ouces of water in a 8 inch pot....they liked it! Growing nice big and green this morning for being a little sprout a little over a week ago.
