quick lighting question...

:blsmoke:here is what i was wondering on doing...i have a 400w mh and 600hps ballast setup...i have 20 girls that i want to veg. i have sucessfully vegged these babies for a month under the MH...hoowver, im running out of space since they are getting much too bushy....would it be a problem to have 10 on the 400mh and the other in the 600hps? then everyday swap out the lights? (like the girls will have an equal dose of 24-0 mh and hps lighting?)

if not, then ill go get an 600mh bulb...just wondering..answer please!!!! thanks bruhs..

Well what are your plans for flowering? Will you be using the same combination of lights? I would run both without moving them- if anything get a light mover. I think this constant change in color temps will stress plants out. This will be a good experiment to the difference of hps and mh in veg.
 
My plans for flowering is about 6 weeks. so by the end of this month im flipping them...the average height for all of them are about 18"... i want to hit atelast 24" before i flip....ill be transplanting these girls today in 5 gallon containers to ensure a good volume. stress would be an issue for sure...if you dont recomend swithcing the lights why would you recomend a light mover? and ill be using the same lighet combo...switching the 400 abd 600 everyday on each table...
 
A light mover would give a complete spectrum at all times if set up correctly. Moving the lights from one side of the room to the other in one change is different than multiple changes (complete coverage) during the on cycle. One is subtle changes all day the other is a hard change once a day.
 
i see what you are sayng...hmmm...what if i put the 4x4 tables together to make a 4x8 and place the 400 and 600 right by each other...would that work better you think?
 
That would probably work best, this is what i did when i was in this situation...i was in flower tho- plants on mh side were not as dense and they stretched more. What about use mh for veg and hps for flower? Go perpetual- when the plants from hps table are done flowering, in the mh plants go...then restock the mh table with pre-started clones.

Do you continue with this setup in flower? Just switch 12/12?
 
Nha I have 2 1000 hps sets that will replace the lghts. ...I don't want effect my yield...and my perptual will be 20 perccycle...so want to flower these girls all at the same time...so it's a done deal the ...just place the lights togther(600hpsand 400mh) and the tables ..
