Hi guys, this is my frist grow, I have 5 plants currently growing indoors(basement) in a closet thats about 75" x 30" with CFL's mainly 6500K's and 1 2700K. Good grow area. I transplanted my plants from 1 & 3 gallon pots to 5 gallon pots the other day, they look happy and healthy still (except for a bit of overfertilization and some nutrient burn on 3 of them several weeks ago)
Anyway I want to take some clones(maybe just 1 from my best looking and largest plant) they are about 6 weeks old now.
Now here are the questions...
The cutting I want to take is like the 4th or 5th branch set on the main stem(not counting the c-word things LOL NEWB litte round leafs which already have fallen off. This branch would have atleast 3-4 nodes itself after being cut, my question is how far should I cut it toward the main stem? how far should I burry the cut branch in soil? What happens to the area where the branch I cut was?
What I plan to do is make the cut, lay the cutting in some water and possibly take another and do the same, then few minutes (10 mins. or so) dip the tip of the branch(stem now I guess) into some rooting horomone that I have and plant it in the soil? Will this work? I want to take the clone and force it into flowering to see sex faster.
If theres someone up that has been through this and knows a lot about cloning I would really appreciate it, I'm very new to this but I think everything is going to be OKAY
Thanks in advance.
Oh also is it a bad idea to take the cutting this soon after transplanting,?Growth didn't really seem to slow I transplanted them with Superthrive this time around, didn't think I would be transplanting them again for awhile.
