Questions for the PC box growers.

I'm going to be setting up a PC box grow or 2 for some trial runs. Not concerned about stealth, but more for a smaller environment to test a few different things. I was wondering if anyone had worked their box out while making use of the PSU for easier hookup of the fans, or maybe wire the lights into it? Or would the humidity in the box make for a stupid idea? Probably the best idea would just be to strip the whole thing and just run the fans to a 9-12vdc adapter?

I would get an old computer! of those that took a whole room space! haha. Now seriously yea remove everything, you need as many space as you can get. Use the PSU to power your fans, you do know the jumper thing right?

old computer cases won't be a problem lol, think I have 6-8 of them or so that I could strip. What do you mean by jumper thing?

It's as simple as connecting two pins with a wire at the power cable of the Motherboard that goes out from the PSU. I don't recall the pin number but just google it, then you just plug it to the wall and it'll turn your fans on.

We live in a very humid area, directly off the sea. This is the main reason we decided to use a grow box; smaller environmental easier to control. Here are some pics of the box we are currently using: 20130316_043414.jpg

We used a cellphone battery charger to connect the pc fan and exhaust and put all light wires outside to leave more room. We also implemented a timer later for the flowering stage.
