Questions about stretching.

So my Uncle and I are growing plants, he is doing better than me.. He started sooner, but his new batch seems reallllllllllllllllllllly tall and weak.. I noticed some of the branches I could almost like squeeze together, like spongy.

These plants are inside buckets, and inside a 8 foot tall tent. I would estimate the plants are easily 5 foot tall, been in flower for almost a month now. His reflector can't go any higher either, so he's at the max for these plants height wise.

My plants are a lot bushier, and shorter. He likes to place the lights higher in the tent, and I like to basically have the light a couple inches above my plants.

What is he doing wrong, or is this all good? I've read that this kind of crap can really reduce yield.

looks like he's going to get a pretty damn decent yield to me....

sativas stretch, indicas get bushy... most find that the lanky sativas, while taking longer to flower, do produce more in the end.

Oh good, I was getting worried, because they seemed way different than the ones he did in soil in the same tent, he switched to Buckets and they got waaay taller, I was also worried he topped off to much.

any chance the lights are very old?

are you both growing the same seeds/clones? if so, the fact that he has his lights a little higher could mean that the plants are stretching searching for more light.. and if you are not both growing the same plants, then i would definitely agree with the above poster about the differences between sativa's and indica's.. sativa's usually have longer thinner leaves and tend to grow much taller, and indica's tend to be shorter and bushier, and the leaves are shorter and broader... as well some indica's can flower as fast as like 56 days or so, and some sativa's can go on for almost 14 weeks or so..
