Hi, you need to get a "figure 8" electrical cord. Something like this:

This then plugs in to the back of the light on your aerogarden. You then use a timer with this set to 12/12.
So the main aerogarden controller doesn't control your lights anymore you do it externally.

Justin121: That depends on which Aerogarden you have. The new super-duper models have the 12/12 flowering schedule pre-programmed. If you have an old "Classic" like me then you need a figure eight cord and a remote timer. You can get the figure eight cord at Radio Shack for about $7 or you can get the same thing at the 99cents store in their electrical department. You can get the timer from: Harbor Freight Tools, The Home Depot, Lowe's, Wal-Mart or practically any hardware store. Just R T F D's, (read the friggin' directions), and plug it into the hood and connect it to the timer at the wall socket. You're good to go.
