Question Regarding My Hydro Setup

Okay, so i'm doing a drip flow hydro system and was wondering if this is correct. i have 2 inch rockwool cubes that i am using, and i have maybe 4 inch diameter cups. So for most of my plants i have a layer of hydroponic rocks, the 2 inch cube, rocks around the sides of the rockwool and a layer of rocks on top. This is all that i have room for.
Is this the best set up?

Or do i need to do it differently (e.g all the hydro rocks on the bottom, or top, etc.).

Logically, I am confused as to how this would work but its' what the guy at the hydro store told me.

You'll want the rockwool to fill the cup its in. You dont want it to be loose or able to move around. If it can, then so will your plant, and ergo big problems. Properly fitted rockwool will also not let light leak into the roots under the plants.

Quite frankly, skip the rockwool and just fill the cups with Hydroton. Use 1" starter rockwool to germinate/clone then plop em in Hydroton in the nets when your ready to veg/flower.

The hydroton are the hydroponic rocks, right? I've already got those but am confused as to how to place them in the pots.... like what goes in first?
