Question on nutes

I've been reading the guides and am seeing a lot of them calling for ferts during veg stage to be like 20-5-5. So I got some of the Fox Farm nutes (the 3 pack) and it says it is only 6-4-4. So do I need to get more N and supplement or what?

I'm interested in this also. I understand that it will work fine. But I also am finiding the same 20 + N ratings yet I've yet to see anyhting hydro related at these levels. Is this only a soil suggestion?

Flamdrags420..... The reason you see big numbers on so many ferts, designed for soil is : The average soil, your aunt grows flowers in, is not light & fluffy like the stuff we grow Mary in. These Mega ferts kill the life in the soil & turn it into nothing more than a sponge. Requiring frequent, applications to keep the poor plants living in it, alive.

Aunt Minnies stuff is either thicker than clay or as pourous as sand. Miracle Grow assumes the shit is going to leach out with rainwater or water from your hose oR it's going to have to fight it's way through. So, out comes the Elephant Gun (Mega N, Mega P & Mega K) Big numbers look good to the uneducated grower.

If your soil is a good mix, you don't need Mega anything. In fact in my opinon - No one needs that shit.

Your 6-4-4 will work just fine. Just follow the directions & don't buy into the more is better. It's not.

Overfeeding & Overwatering are Mary's two biggest enemies. Their General is the Over Zealous Grower. Leading the charge & killing with toxic kindness.

Every strain of Mary has a gentic potential. It can be reached but never exceeded. You can not fertilize ditch weed bag seed, up to the level of NYC Diesel. So, don't believe fancy advertising pitches telling you - our product will give you 25 percent more bud (Bullsh*t).

Stay low, slow & steady with your fertilizing. Your end result will be better. If you get a chance, drop into the Organics threads - read a few posts and see how easy growing good bud can be.

Ok thanks. I have 1 other question. I am using 5 gallon buckets that are white but they seem to be translucent. Should I blacken the buckets out.

any advice on the buckets?
