Question on molassis

Heard this and that about people using molassis in their water to increase yield.
I am only interested in tried and true methods and am wondering what others think [from experience]
From what i have "heard" molassis adds sugars and such that your plants use to make bigger flowers and better trich production. If anyone knows of this to be true I am excited to hear about it!

Yes Molassas works in flower. How much it helps is up to your plants. Every plant has its own needs, I don't know if others will agree to this comment but every plant has a perfect combo of nutes lites and water. I have had one plant that liked FF tiger bloom, molassas and kool bloom in flower and the same combo did not work for another plant in the same room.

molassas won't hurt your plant, 1 tbs per gallon if they like it you'll know

plants dont use sugar. sugar boosts beneficial microbe population which could help your plants take up more nutes. chlorine kills beneficial microbes so if there is any in your water it wont help.

my chlorine level from the tap is 0ppm
so that is not a factor.I am growing black afghani/hash plant and a couple true black afghani.one clone of the hp cross already flowered and was ready in 50 days but i was not impressed with yield, three foot plant produced 2 1\2 ounces under 400watt hps.The person i got the strain from was getting close to 5ounces off of same setup.I run bigger pots and co2 in my room and was just wondering if molassis will in fact make better medicine while still increasing yield?

Plants can't use sugar as a source of food, but there are other things in Molasses that are beneficial to your plant. I will say this. When I first heard of the whole "Molasses Theory" I asked about it. There was a guy on here named Al B. Fuct who was very wise and knew his shit about growing. He gave me a bunch of reasons not to use it, one being my initial comment, that plants CANNOT uptake sugar. He convinced me and I left it at that. About seven weeks into my last grow, my plant just kinda "stalled", for lack of a better word. It wasn't done flowering yet, but the buds weren't getting any fatter and it was just waiting to cross the finish line. I said to myself, "Self, why don't you give that plant a shot of Molasses, What's the worst that could happen two weeks from harvest?" About a day and half after giving the Molasses the buds started to swell up and the plant made a nice sprint to the finish line. IT DEFINATELY did have an impact on the buds. Like Al B. said, I don't think it is the sugars in the Molasses, but I do think that the other organisms in it make the nutrients in your soil more available for uptake, thus making your harvest better. Just my four cents.:peace:

It's a good natural source for potassium.

I am using molasses for the first time, actually used some to promote a stronger seedlng, then tapered off when it was time to introduce nutes. Only use a straight soil and perlite mixture in pots. Plan on re-introducing the molasses first and last two weeks of flower.

I've used molassas on grows and not used it and I really dont see much difference. After reading some of the more educated posts about molassas, I can gather that all the compost tea, micro tea, and BMO's super plant tonic that I use on all my grows....I can see why I havent noticed a difference after using molassas. I've already got all those lil micro beasties working for me :hump:

I did just order Humboldt's "Gravity" it's an Emerald Triangle product and I hear it makes for some ROCK hard nugs. Look for results in my current grow around 4-20-09 :hump:

Good For You! you live in BC......aw...it must make your opinion more valuable.
Those thai folks are thumbing their noses at you losers in BC....having to grow indicas because of your poor climate...

doesn't make ANY diff where you live bro... Bubble gum came from indiana for fucks sake... The worst grower in the world could live in BC, humbolt, afganistan or Cleavland. the same can be said for the most accomplished.

molasses feeds the micro-herd~it's not a miracle product that will turn shit to gold

peace bro :leaf:

i am a newbie and i have not yet tried much of anything advanced that will add stuff to my soil but i did find this small bit of info ... i hope it helps to put a stop to some of the miss leading posts here at RIU about mollasses and CO2.

Photosynthesis uses light energy and carbon dioxide to make a sugar called glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate (G3P) or triose phosphate. G3P is generally considered the first end-product of photosynthesis.[2] It is formed by the incorporation of carbon dioxide to ribulose.
This first product can be used directly as a source of metabolic energy, or combined and rearranged to form more complex monosaccharide sugars such as glucose, or disaccharide sugars such as sucrose. These secondary products can then be transported to other cells, stored as insoluble polysaccharides such as starch, or converted to structural carbohydrates such as cellulose or glucans.

Hey, that's the day after my son's birthday! he lives in a snow cave up on the tundra too...he's never had lumbo (columbian). he's probably sending smoke signals right now from Dinkytown.

Look forward to the rojo reports...
